Terrain
The terrain of pukkelpop is again in kiewiet, Hasselt this year (on the kempische steenweg). Hasselt is a middle large town in Vlaanderen. The terrain is on the festivalweide in kiewiet, Hasselt. The terrain is quite large, there is enough space for 8 stages and for over 60.000 visitors.
There is a large camping on walk distance from the terrain. The camping is big enough for 40.000 people, the rest of the visitors has to find another sleeping place or must go home.
You can find food stands all over the terrain and on the camping and in kiewiet, hasselt. On the terrain you must put all your garbage in 2 different garbage bags and than hand in these 2 garbage bags so the organisation can recycle it.

Headlines 2011
Foo fighters:
On Tuesday 18th August Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters will be the last band on the Main Stage. Their new album, ‘Wasting light’, echoes the sound of a runaway train. According to Dave Grohl, it’s the loudest Foo-Fighters album so far. Since they have asked to be on the stage for almost two hours, the band are sure to play a wide selection of their hits next to their new songs. Pukkelpop is looking forward to the reunion with the band’s amiable frontman. Dave Grohl played his first European tour with Foo Fighters at Pukkelpop 2005 and afterwards returned to Kiewit twice. Two years ago he played a surprise gig with Them Crooked Vultures. And let’s not forget that twenty years ago, in September, Nirvana’s breakthrough album, ‘Nevermind’, was released. Dave Grohl still considers 25th August 1991, the date of the Nirvana show at Pukkelpop, to be ’one of the greatest days of his life’. A month later the band was high up in the charts. Their lives had drastically changed. The rest is rock history.
Eminem:
In 2000 a legal dispute made it impossible for Eminem to leave the US, so his Pukkelpop show had to be cancelled at the last minute. On Friday, August 19th he will make up for his absence. In fact, Pukkelpop will be the only festival he plays on the Continent this summer. Last year he released 'Recovery', a stunning album that has yielded two hits: "Not Afraid" and the smart collaboration with Rihanna, ‘Love the way you lie’. It’s plain to see: The Real Slim Shady’s fires are still burning!
The offspring:
There are only two differences between The Offspring in their early days as manic speed punkers and the current band: the size of their audience and the size of their bank account. Nothing else has changed for these veterans of punk. To them, punk rock is still first and foremost "fun and pleasure". They have sold more than fifty million records (and are still selling) and have become a true punk rock institution. With their brand new ninth album, the Californian quartet are ready to steamroller the Kiewit festival grounds for the fifth time with classics such as 'Self-Esteem’, ‘Come Out and Play', 'Pretty Fly' and 'Why Do not You Get A Job?
